Professional Testing in International Spotlight
Staff Members Participate in First International Congress for Personnel Certification
(Orlando, Fla.) - Professional Testing Vice President, Dr. Cynthia Woodley, will participate on the Scientific Committee of the 1st International Congress for Personnel Certification (IPC Congress). The Congress takes place August 22-25, 2006 in Athens, Greece. This first congress will assist in further promoting the interest of personnel certification on a global scale.
The 1st IPC Congress will bring together organizations and professionals working in personnel, product and system certification, standardization and accreditation markets from around the globe. At the conference, professionals will have the opportunity to exchange views, present their findings and plan for the future of personnel certification, which will continue to ensure that today's workforce is competent and producing quality work.
"It is an honor to be invited to participate with this prestigious group," said Woodley. "As technology continues to make the world smaller, it is important that we work together to identify universal standards."
The IPC Congress includes representatives from the USA, Japan, the Russian Federation, Taiwan, Greece, Germany, Australia, Korea, P.R. China, Italy and Kazakhstan. The conference will cover the latest worldwide achievements in certification and accreditation markets.
In addition to her work with the Scientific Committee, Dr. Woodley will make a presentation to attendees on creating certification programs that comply psychometrically with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17024, the benchmark for certification. Three additional Professional Testing staff members are making presentations including Cynthia Parshall, Ph.D., Fae Mellichamp and Lynn Webb, Ph.D.. Topics of their presentations include steps for developing a testing program, item writing, and converting to computer based testing.
